Wasps are insects belonging to Order Hymenoptera. They are 12mm to 16mm long (a queen is about 20mm long) and resemble bees in both size and shape. They have bright yellow body with black triangle-shaped markings, Yellow legs, and with two long black antennae.
These wasps make their nests from chewed wood pulp and saliva, giving the nest walls a distinctive papery look. Nests are usually built in sheltered locations. Because they are more aggressive than native wasps, European wasps are a problem. These insects like to live around humans because of the ready food and drink supply, particularly sweet varieties.
Go to the Emergency immediately if you are experiencing more severe symptoms like collapse and loss of consciousness.
Well-established infestations have been associated with poor housekeeping services and low hygiene standards.
